Description

The second issue in the third volume of ‘Skateboarder Magazine’ showing a skateboarder doing a grab trick over a skateboarding bowl wearing fashionably vibrant clothing popular among skateboarders; a red helmet, bright yellow t shirt and blue and white tube socks.
The Skateboarder magazine was first published in 1964 as a quarterly publication under the name The Quarterly Skateboarder. The magazine was produced by Surfer Publications who ran their business out of Dana Point, California. The publication was established during the skateboarding boom of the 1960s. In August 1965 the title was changed to Skateboarder and the magazine began to be published bimonthly. This issue was published when skateboards were mass produced and the fashion and style were coming into the culture.
