Description

This source is a newspaper article entitled ‘Grider and Hamilton’s Hollywood’ advertising the new housing development in Hollywood opening Monday the 25th of December. The source provides the prices of these houses being from $400-$800 and encourages people to act quickly to secure these properties as they will go quickly. Before the ‘Hollywood’ sign that stands on a hill over Los Angeles became an icon for the mass film industry it once read ‘Hollywoodland’ to advertise the new housing complexes that were developing in the area. The source, though written before the construction of the sign in 1923, is encouraging people to come and buy one of these newly built houses in an upcoming area before they all sell out due to popularity.
