Description

A 50 second video clip filmed on January 24th, 1898 and later restored by the Library of Congress in 1996 shows a parade within San Francisco celebrating the Golden Jubilee. Within this video, native daughters wearing white dresses and white Alpine hats are shown on horseback parading through the streets past a thick crowd including women and children. In the background, an array of tall buildings with the American flag flying from different windows and also on the streets. This suggests that this is being filmed in a densely populated area with enough wealth for these types of high buildings. Following the women on horses, a decorating float is also drawn by horses.
