A white soldier equipped with battlefield standard armour and clothing holding an M-16 assault rifle against the backdrop of a wall with graffiti on it regarding the tension between the people who were rioting and the police department. Written on the wall is “This is for Rodney King. We love you my brother.” It also says ‘X.PEACE’ on the wall.
This image was published during the time of the Los Angeles riots in which armed looters and protesters were marching on the streets of LA in protest of the Los Angeles Police Department’s discriminatory practices, sparked when the police officers responsible for the beating of Rodney King, a black taxi driver, were acquitted.
