Chinese
Exclusion Act

Description

This newspaper talks about the Chinese Exclusion Act and how the Chinese should all stand together and be united in opposing it. Some of the speakers at the meeting, expressed how much they had done for the US, including help build the pacific railroad. They describe how unjust it was to be cast out and that they would never dream to do this to Americans in China. One of the speakers, says, ‘the whole act is based on lack of brotherly love, a spirit of unfairness.’ These Asian communities came to Hawaii, to seek a better life for themselves and for their families, and to be treated so badly, just shows the mentality of the US government.
