Description

The source is a black and white picture of both the Young People’s Associations of Metropolitan United Church and Centennial United Church groups from 1930 in Victoria. Both groups are Methodist churches in Canada with Centennial United Church established in Victoria, B.C. and Metropolitan United Church from Toronto, ON. Methodist Churches were established after Methodism spread to the Canada after the American Revolution and arrived in Victoria in February 10, 1858. The source is significant because it shows evidence of the theme for religious missionaries travelling to British Columbia. In this case it was Methodism spreading the word of God in the spirit of love and care. It was to be delivered to people outside the church of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism.
