Description
Two plain white satin slippers with no embroidery or lace on either. Square at the toes with a very thin sole which may suggest that women during this era were lighter and didn’t go through the soles that easily, or these were shoes that were designed to not be outside or worn a lot. The woven satin material used gives the pair of shoes a glossy surface and a gentle lustre which allows the shoe to look very elegant even if so plain. Other garments that may use this material would have been women’s lingerie, nightgowns and parts of dresses.
