Description

This is a poster that details the mandatory evacuation to any Japanese people living within a section of the City of San Francisco. It states that the instructions stated on the poster apply to both alien and non-alien people of Japanese ancestry, notes that “The Civil Control Station” would assist the Japanese population by providing temporary residence and transportation to their new residence. The poster states that the head of the family must report to the Civil Control Station for further instruction within 8am-5pm on 2nd April and the 3rd April. Evacuees must sort out their own necessities including bedding, toiletries, extra clothing etc. They note that the government will provide storage for other household items but it is at the risk of the owner and the transportation will be orchestrated by a supervised group.
